Starting and ending at Dar es Salaam, this safari will take you to the greater Selous ecosystem and give you the rare chance to experience the real African wilderness adventure in the few untouched areas of Tanzania.
Selous Game reserve (Nyerere Nat Park) covering 50,000sq km, is the largest game reserve in Africa. The reserve supports an enormous number of elephants, buffalos, and wildebeests. Other rare species include the African Hunting dog. The park provides home for some of the last remaining black rhinos.
“Nje ya Selous Camp” is a seasonal tented camp located outside Selous Game Reserve. This camp welcomes you to exceptional African hospitality and experience in the wilderness.
The tents are large 360* views walk-in tents well furnished with king-size double or twin beds, which are made daily with crispy clean linen laid over a thick, comfortable mattress. Mosquito netting on all doors and windows provides security from insects whilst allowing the cooling breezes to circulate inside the tent.
A bedside table, reading lamp, and solar lighting complete the simple but tasteful furnishings. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom appointed with shaving mirrors, washstands, soft towels, shower gels, and shampoos. Visit the
Pick up from the hotel at 05.30 for Mikumi. En route, you will make a stopover at the
Traditional Maasai village and overnight at Mikumi Bandas or Camp Bastia, full board.
Day 2: Full day game drive and overnight Mikumi Bandas or Camp Bastia, full board.
Early depart with lunch boxes for Nyerere N.P western gate. The drive will be through some of the most scenic parts of Southern Tanzania. Villages and the Uluguru Mountains dot along the way. You will make a short lunch break by the road side arriving at the Lodge late afternoon. En- route to the lodge, your game drives begin as you make a cross of over 85km to the Eastern gate, overnight at Nje ya Selous Camp, full board.
Day 4: Early morning walk outside of the reserve from 07.00 – 09.30. Return to the camp for breakfast and. At 16.00 and overnight at Nje ya Selous Camp, full board.
After breakfast depart for Dar es Salaam and drop-off at the agreed point.
