2 days Tarangire and Ngorongoro Safari is widely considered one of the most underrated National Parks on the continent where you will see Big 5 animals, as it is largely overshadowed by the more famous parks in the area such as Ngorongoro and Serengeti.
Nevertheless, this wildlife reserve has some of the most beautiful scenery. Its approximately 20,850 square kilometers large area is an astounding mix of granitic ridges, swamps, hills, rivers, and valleys. The national park is named after the Tarangire River, which is the main freshwater source for the ecosystem’s animals during the dry season.
Tarangire’s breathtaking beauty is further strongly defined by its dominant population of elephants and the majestic baobab trees, which is the reason the park is also called “Land of the Giants”.
Tarangire’s wildlife however is certainly not limited to these giants. The area is rich in migratory wildlife such as wildebeest, zebra, and buffalo, as well as predators such as lions, leopards and so much more. It is considered to be home to the greatest concentration of wildlife outside of the Serengeti ecosystem.
Its swamps are home to over 500 bird species, which is the most in one habitat anywhere in the world. Amongst those are the Kori bustard (the world’s heaviest flying bird) and the stocking-thighed ostrich (the world’s largest bird).
Program of 5 Days Serengeti Wildebeest will include Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park 2nights also is possible for a one-day safari from Arusha or Zanzibar island.

On the last day of your safari, you will have an early start. Finishing up with a quick breakfast you will make an early descent at around 6:30 AM into the crater floor.
The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. It has a massive floor of about 260 sq km with a depth of over 2000 feet. The 5-hour game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of animal action. Keeping the camera ready is definitely recommended.
The African elephant, buffalo, Black rhino, Hippos, Hyenas, Cheetahs, and Lions are found in plenty.
Post the picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool, you will begin a steep ascent to the top exit of the crater.
This is the last leg of your safari, with a 4hr drive left to Arusha, we will start a safari to Arusha airport or Kilimanjaro Airport.
Late evening flight back to Zanzibar.
