Nungwi village tour is a traditional tour that takes place at Nungwi village, starts from Baraka Aquarium or Mnarani Aquarium enjoy the chance to see, feed, and swim with these beautiful native animals
These are small tidal lakes surrounded by the porous coral rag stone that is home to dozens of endangered hawksbill and green turtles, that allow to swim with them and feed the turtles with seaweed, take photographs.
You will also have a chance to visit dhow (local boat) makers by the beach and see how a boat will be prepared or made from scratch by the local people.
These tour experiences are always done with local guides from the village, and all the activities are planned to benefit the village and nature conservation.
Most fascinating are the dhow-builders your guide will introduce you, so you can ask questions or simply observe their skills.
Note, however, that the dhow-builders don’t like being photographed so always ask permission first they might agree to take pictures.
On this tour, you may combine with a Sunset cruise to enjoy the turquoise ocean in the evening, Sunset cruise includes a sailing boat (dhow) from Kendwa.
