Chole Island mafia is The clear, protected waters offer wonderful snorkeling, sailing, and swimming. Outside the Bay unbroken reef runs the length of the island, from Tutia in the south to Ras Mkumbi at the northern tip. Mafia Island Marine Park is a protected environment for coral reefs and other ecosystems. Bird-watching is excellent and very different from the mainland parks.
The tidal flats and mangroves are always alive with coastal and sea birds and there are many colorful woodland and forest species. There are also roosts of the unusual and fascinating giant Madagascan fruit bat to see on Chole Island.
Visit the half-day neighboring Chole Island where you will get to see how the locals live on a short tour through the village. We will visit the island ruins, the traditional dhow-making area, and also the resident flying fox bats (the world’s largest bats!). We will then go to a secluded sandbank for a local BBQ lunch and some time to relax!
