Day 0: Pre-trek Briefing

Arrive in Moshi and meet your guide for a pre-trek briefing. You’ll receive essential information about the trek, review your gear, and discuss any questions you may have. This is also a great opportunity to meet your fellow climbers and get excited about the adventure ahead.

Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp

After breakfast, depart from your hotel and drive to Machame Gate for registration. Begin your hike through the lush rainforest, where you can spot monkeys and colorful birds. The trek to Machame Camp (2,835 m) takes about 5-6 hours. Highlights include rich wildlife sightings and a comfortable camp setup to enjoy dinner and relax at the end of the day.

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Enjoy breakfast at camp, then start your journey towards Shira Camp (3,840 m). The trail offers breathtaking views as you climb above the forest into moorland. The trek takes about 4-5 hours. Highlights include panoramic vistas of Kilimanjaro and the transition in scenery as you walk. Settle in for the night at Shira Camp, enjoying a cozy dinner with your group.

Day 3: Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

After breakfast, set off for Lava Tower (4,600 m), a unique rock formation that offers a great spot for photos and acclimatization. Continue your trek down to Barranco Camp (3,960 m), taking a total of 6-7 hours. Highlights include acclimatization benefits from the altitude gain, breathtaking views of the mountain, and arriving at Barranco Camp for dinner and rest.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp

Start your day with breakfast and tackle the famous Barranco Wall, which provides an exciting climb and rewarding views. After the ascent, continue toward Barafu Camp (4,700 m). This section takes around 6-7 hours. Highlights include the challenging climb and enjoying stunning vistas before settling in at Barafu Camp for dinner and rest.

Day 5: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to your accomodation

Wake up around midnight for your summit attempt to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). The climb takes about 6-8 hours, followed by a descent to Mweka Camp (3,100 m), which takes about 6-7 hours. Highlights include experiencing the thrill of climbing under the stars, celebrating at the summit, and enjoying a well-deserved meal and rest at Mweka Camp.

Day 6: Summit Day - Base Camp to Uhuru Peak

After breakfast, start your final descent to Mweka Gate, which takes about 3-4 hours. Enjoy the beautiful scenery as you walk through the rainforest. Once you reach the gate, sign out, receive your climbing certificate, and celebrate your accomplishment with a farewell lunch. Afterward, drive back to your hotel in Moshi for a well-earned rest and to reflect on your incredible journey.
